ABOUT THE THE SHOW AND TELLERS
The Show and Tellers were formed at the Austin Farmers' Market in December 2011, when Joe and Melissa were joined by Rebecca for a Saturday morning hoe-down. They play a variety of original and traditional music in a mash-up style blending western swing, bluegrass, dixieland jazz, ragtime, and good ole American fun. The Show and Tellers, a "side project" as it were, is comprised of Melissa Carper on bass, Joe Sundell on banjo, and Rebecca Patek on fiddle, and the group really gets going when they're joined on cornet and clarinet by jazz phenom and living legend David Jellema. Due to the rigorous playing schedule of the group's core members, opportunities for shows are scarce, making each one a rare must-see performance.
